FAQ
Do I need prior hiking experience?
No. We offer treks for all levels. Each outing is tailored to ability, goals, and comfort. Some advanced routes are for experienced hikers only, which will be clearly stated.
What should I bring?
Bring sturdy hiking boots, layered clothing, a rain jacket, snacks, and enough water. A full recommended gear list is sent to you after booking. Optional gear support is available if you need tents, bags, or stoves.
What about food and water?
You are responsible for bringing your own meals and snacks. We provide water filtration at lakes and streams, but you should arrive with at least 1 to 2 liters of water to start the hike.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first. If weather creates unsafe conditions, we may adjust the route, reschedule, or issue a credit toward another trek.
Is there cell service on the hikes?
Most routes have limited or no cell service. Our guides carry basic safety communication, but you should always let someone know your itinerary.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made at least 7 days in advance for a full credit toward another trek. Within 7 days, cancellations are non-refundable. Weather cancellations are handled case by case.
Do I need a permit?
Most day hikes do not require permits, but some overnight treks in Strathcona Park require backcountry registration. We provide guidance on this as part of booking.
Are children or pets allowed?
Children must be at least 12 years old and able to complete the distance. Pets are not recommended due to wildlife, rough terrain, and group safety.
What if I do not have all the gear?
We offer gear support for tents, sleeping bags, stoves, and more. This keeps your pack light and ensures you are prepared.
